Oprah Winfrey Sells NYC Penthouse

A London-based hedge funder just bought Oprah Winfrey's 57th Street Penthouse apartment in New York, according to a press release. Mark Hillery, a partner at European hedge fund behemoth Brevan Howard, and his wife Melissa bought the Place 57 apartment for $7.9 million. New owner is planning a high-end makeover to the 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath, 2,530-square-foot penthouse apartment with floor to ceiling windows. Amenities include a 768-square-foot balcony, chef's kitchen, a master suite with three walk-in closets and floor-to-ceiling windows with views from Central Park to the Hudson River. The former talk show queen never lived there.
