1 Week Stay In Your Own Private Castle

Coolmain Castle was originally built by the de Courcey family in the early 15th century. Over the years it passed through the hands of a number of families, including that of the Earls of Cork. The late Roy Disney nephew of Walt Disney bought it about 25 years ago from Hollywood photographer Bob Willoughby, who had carried out extensive refurbishments to the property.

There are four "formal bedrooms" in the main part of the house. The master bedroom has a small sitting area and a king size bed with a view of the bay.

The "Gold Room" is a generous sized suite with a view of the gardens and a king size bed. The "Tower Room" is situated inside the castle tower. It is smaller than the rest, but very cozy and intimate. It has a queen size bed.

The "Daphne Room" is a twin suite with a view of the bay. In the "Children's wing" there are three bathrooms and five bedrooms. Two bedrooms have queen sized beds, one has twin beds, one has bunk beds and the last has a single sleigh bed.

Because there is often overflow we put three bunk beds in the tennis house, which is about 50 yards away from the front door, so it sleeps six and has a bathroom.

Public rooms include a very large eat-in kitchen set up to feed as many as 24, a family room with comfortable seating for tv watching, a beautiful formal dining room, living room, and music room which includes a 'secret stairway" up to the top of the tower.
